Cost-effectiveness of interventions for the control of HCAI
1. Model-based evaluation & cost-effectiveness analysis of MRSA.

2. Does targeted and quantified control of the microbiological environment within ICU, using staff trained in microfibre cleaning & contamination bio load detection technology, reduce colonization & healthcare acquired infection.

3. Monitoring the survival & spread of resistant micro-organisms in the hospital environment.

4. Follow up of care home residents to determine evolution of MRSA carriage and effects of colonization status on health outcome.

Rapid Testing Studies
1. A Randomised Crossover Trial Of A New, Rapid Method Of MRSA Detection Compared With Conventional Screening: Efficacy And The Effect Upon Hospital MRSA Infection Rates, Transmission Rates And The Use Of Hospital Resources.

2. A study of the efficacy and cost-effectiveness of MRSA screening and monitoring on surgical wards using a new, rapid molecular test (EMMS).
