ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON ANTIMICROBIAL RESISTANCE AND HEALTHCARE ASSOCIATE INFECTION
The Advisory Committee on Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare Associated Infection (ARHAI) was established in April 2007 to provide practical and scientific advice to the Government on strategies to minimise the incidence of healthcare associated infections and to maintain the effectiveness of antimicrobial agents in the treatment and prevention of microbial infections in man and animals. In making recommendations, the committee will take into account the relevant work of other expert groups in the human and veterinary fields.

EPIC
The epic initiative was established in 1998 by the Richard Wells Research Centre at Thames Valley University as an overlapping series of long-term government commissioned research projects focused on contributing to the development of the evidence base which underpins the practice of infection prevention and control in the National Health Service (NHS).
